|
|
Hi everyone!
I just started working with this clay and I am really interested in creating jewery boxes or any other type of cool designed box. I'm finding it hard to locate any tutorials on this type of clay work.
Can anyone help me find information on creating, tips, etc?
Thanks,
John |

Thanks Peg,
I'll be sure to post some pictures once I get around to creating some boxes. It looks like I need to make some canes before I can start creating some cool looking jewelry boxes.
Also, I noticed I'm having problems with fingerprints on my clay. I've even tried wearing latex cloves but the prints go through. Any suggestions?

| Hey what's up? The finger print thing.. weird if you are wearing gloves.. I tried the glove thing and found it very difficult, myself. I thought the gloves tended to make more unwanted marks in my clay, from wrinkles and such, but I can't believe that your prints are going throught.. but anyway it's not a big deal. Sand. I believe there are also some other ways to remove them but sanding is very very very important to a good finished piece. And the fingerprints should not be a problem. Metallic clays are more difficult though. Because of the mica-shift qualities of these clays, I have found you really need to make sure you get all your fingerprints smoothed out before baking or you will never be rid of them. Very annoying. You should go check out www.glassattic.com TONS of imformation there! |
