Hello. My name is Annie and I'm 17 years old. I've always been interested in sculpture..in art in general but only recently decided to give a serious attempt.
I am very interested in making dolls, my little sister loves dolls, she doesn't play with them, mostly enjoys looking at them and talking to them (I sense a collector). She's a little over a year old but I think she can tell how fragile some things are. She's very into faeries and other whimsical creatures and also of course, care bears. Laughing
I'll be leaving for college next year and I wanted to leave something special for her. I wanted to make a little scene with tiny faeries and pixies in their natural surroundings.
I understand that it will take alot of time and patience but I am willing to invest both into this project.

Any tips and suggestions are welcome. Thank you. Smile

Hi, Annie! I don't have much in the way of tips (other than patience is a virtue!), but I just wanted to say, welcome! Very Happy

Hello Annie,

Welcome to the forum. I have only recently created my first art doll. It was a challenge, but a lot of fun. I did a lot of research before I started by looking at other people's work and searching for online tutorials. The link below is a yahoo search for "dolls" "polymer clay" "tutorials". Pick out what works best for you. There are a lot of talented artists out there who offer some great advice. For more specific searches add what you need (eg. "hands" "feet" "fairies" etc.)

The best advice I can offer though is just do it and have fun with it. I'm sure your little sister will love whatever wonderful doll you create for her.

Hi Annie,
Just wanted to say that your sister is a very lucky little girl to have you. You obviously love her a lot to put all that effort into a project for her. I'm new here but a confirmed clayaholic. Practising canes at the moment and love MG and Translucent. Welcome to both of us.....!
