I just saw on a website that the lady uses her polymer characters for cake toppers. Can you really do this? I mean everything I've read says you need to keep food away, and not to reuse the container you use to bake the clay.
This is awesome if you can indeed use polymer clay for cake toppers!! |

| This is totally a wild guess but I would think that after the clay is baked it would be safe? Not sure though. But it is a good question. |

I've seen this done, I think what people do is make the characters and attach them to a small stand or something and place that on the cake. Check out www.thumbprintkids.com, she uses what looks like wooden plaque-like things.

Thanks Maya, it was her site I saw the caketoppers on; that inspired this question. It was ironic because a friend of mine is doing cake decorating and asked me to make characters for them. I didn't think it was possible until I saw her site. |
