|
|
I wanna make some cute dessert pins for christmas and I googled some handmade clay desserts. This is what I got and they are co cute:
I have a few question since I'm still a begginer at polymer clay. Do I need a mold for the pies and the cakes or is it handmade? And for the cherry pie, how do I made the cherry substance dripping on the sides?
Is there I book that explains all this or has the same projects or similiar like these? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Laura,
I found an easy way to make miniature pies that look pretty realistic. Use a bottle cap as your pie pan. Its a perfect size and it is already fluted around the edges making it look like a real pie pan. My guess on the dripping cherry juice is that they used liquid polymer clay tinted with red paint. I think you could do these easily without the use of molds.
I googled on miniatures and found this:
"The best books to get for food making are either Angie Scarr's "Miniature Food and Market Stalls" and Sue Heaser's book - Making Dollhouse miniatures from Polymer Clay".
You could probably find them at Amazon.
Good luck, and be sure and post pictures of your "food" here on the forum so we can all see!!

Wow! I didn't know a bottle cap could be used. Thank you so much for your help. I just bought both books on Ebay at a good price! Thanks again! Happy Holidays!

Hi Laura,
I think a very good adress is NoraJean biz in the Net. There you can find a lot of helpful hints and tuts for miniatures.
