I was wondering if anyone here makes clay buttons...like heart shape, flowers, bees. , birds, ect type buttons. I cross stitch and I would love to start making my own buttons. If you do is there a web site with ideas that you would know of? Any help would be helpful

Hi Deb,
I've made clay buttons, not in a particular shape but just regular round ones. I had a favorite top that lost one of it's buttons and I couldn't find an exact replacement, so I had a cane that I had made awhile back so I just made it the same size as the other buttons, sliced enough buttons for the whole shirt, made the button holes, baked, and I ended up with a cool looking new top! This top has been thru the washer too, and the buttons are fine.
One of the many projects in my head is to take some of my other shirts and tops and replace the buttons with some fun polymer clay ones. (Like I'll ever really get around to that!!) But it's fun to think about! Maybe if I get organized I'll take a picture of the buttons and post them here.
